Cherokee Nation GoingSnake District}
Homaney Smith being duly
sworn states that he owned all of the property charged in the above
account and was compelled to abandon it when I was captured by the troops in
1838 under Maj. Gen. Scott Command and the two acres of land as charge I
improved after the Treaty of 1836. All of the above account is just and I have
never received any consideration for the same from the United States or any
other source whatsoever.

duly sworn state, we are well acquainted with Homeney Smith and the above
account is a just claim against the United States which he was forced to
abandon in 1838 by the authorities of the United States and he has never
received any compensation for same to our knowledge.
