Mrs. Sally England came to me to explain for her in regard to her age. She is a full blood and don’t know her age, only that she was a very small child, in fact I suppose an infant when she left the old Nation. She knew she was born back there and her maiden name was Scraper when she drew on the 1851 roll and that she had to go to Van Buren, Ark to get her money. If she is enrolled under her Indian name it would be Sallie Dee su gaskee, as near as I can get it. We have known her for the last thirty odd years. She has lived near us all that time and we do her business for her as she is uneducated. She must have been born sometime in Oct 1837, from what she remembers hearing her people say. Hope this will make it all right. If she was enrolled in English, it would appear – Sallie Scraper. Know she’s worthy.

If this is not satisfactory and needs to be attested by the old lady, know that these we believe to be the facts in the case. Write to Dodge I. T. to her.
