The Samuel Smith Family

It has long been known that Flea Smith was a relative of Chief Cabin Smith due to his name
being included as such on some of the family Miller applications. However, the actual
connection eluded me until fellow researcher and cousin David Anderson brought to my
attention that Moravian records show that on March 14th 1825: “The Indian Caniguijaka
visited his young son Sucjguae or Flea, one of our pupils. He is seven years old and a
nephew of Chief Cabin Smith.”

As with all our family lines, much work remains in the endeavor to preserve our heritage.
