Although with so many names in common, this line surely connects to our Cabin Smith line,
I have yet to discover the connection. Possibly Little Bird Smith is a son of Cabin Smith.
Possibly he is the son of McCoy or Samuel, brothers to Cabin Smith, or the son of an
unknown brother of the old Chief.
As with all our family lines, much work remains in the endeavor to preserve our heritage.
I invite you to contact me if you have any questions, comments, or updates regarding
this or any other family lines – Joe Scraper Jr. jscraperfamily@yahoo.com

Notes for SAMUEL CABIN SMITH: Cherokee name was Ke-ni-sa.
Cabin was an 'old settler', meaning one of those who had left the Indian Nation East and moved west of the Mississippi river before the Trail of Tears.
For the years 1859-60, Cabin Smith was elected councilor of the Cherokee Nation representing Canadian district.
Those Old Settlers who came nearer understanding the situation held a preliminary meeting at the mouth of the Illinois River November 24, 1846, where five men--- William Drew, John Harnage, Cabin Smith, Aaron Hicks, and Ta-ha-sta-ski--- were selected to begin the work of carrying out the provisions of the Treaty (of 1846). Few came to the meeting which was, properly speaking, not official ; but a third meeting on December 21, 1846, at Mackey's on the Illinois River, was well attended and business duly transacted in a two-day session.
